This last Saturday we went to the Esslingen Weihnachtsmarkt with a family in our ward. It was fun and this was not only a weihnachtsmarkt but it also had a Mittelaltermarkt or a middle ages market which was pretty cool. The middle age market was mostly food but they sold a few items and they had games that they would do in the middle ages which was pretty cool to see. Overall, the day was fun and we were able to see a cool fire show. We may have to go back for a visit just to see the city because the city really was around in the middle ages and I would like to see some of the older parts of the city as well as the fortress. Here are some (as in ALOT) pictures of the night.
This little Ferris Wheel is total man power.
It was kind of cool. They also had games like bowling but all with wood, a catapult game, archery, etc.
Here is a Katapult (catapult). It was pretty cool to see this (it was right next to the catapult game).
This is the sign that they put up when going to the middle age market from the Christmas market.
This is a huge pyramid on top of one of the buildings at the Christmas market.
This was early in the day so it wasn't to crowded.
Bit animals on top of this booth. I believe it was a food booth.
See all those people.
Bread on a stick. This was really cool because some booths really cooked the food like they would have back in the Middle ages.
This donkey was having fun coming up and trying to bite anyone's fingers that were on the fence. It would also try for you if you got to close.
Another view of the market.
A sign that I found near the entrance, though not this is not where we came into the market.
This was a pretty cool building.
This is a view inside the Middle Age market.
This is down one of the streets.
View of the market.
This was a pretty cool tower. This was in the Middle ages market.
This was a little parade in the Middle age market with a witch as well as a couple of people on stilts.
Between the two men was one of the people on stilts I believe the person was a dragon.
Another view of the market as it started to get dark.
This was the start of the fire show. This guy played the bag pipes really well.
This was the first act. Fingers of fire.
This was the second act.
This was the third act. She had the fire at the end of a long chain.
This is a picture where I turned off my flash and because she was moving it created a cool effect.
This was the fourth act. This guy was doing pretty cool things with two sticks with the flames double ended.
This again in with my flash off so it created a cool effect as he moved around.
This was a well. I should have thrown a coin down and made a wish.
A view of the Middle age market from above. Overall the day went well and it was fun. Though it did sprinkle a little bit.
