Hohenzollern Castle

After we left Munich we went back to our apartment.  And the next day (March 17th) Eddy had to go to work so I took my family to Hohenzollern castle which was about an hour drive the apartment.  It was pretty cool to go and see the castle and since the day was cloudy and rainy we were able to get onto the grounds without paying the fee.  Though on the downside we were not able to get any cool pictures of the castle from far away.  We did not go inside but enjoyed the grounds and a little the casemates which is where they used to store ammunition and stuff.  Here are some pictures:
The entryway
Walking up to get to the castle.
Some more of the walk up to the castle.
Part of the castle.
Looking down into the garden area.
Another doorway
Almost there.  You can kind of see the shadowy castle through the clouds
Another garden area with some cool architecture.
The sign of land which the castle covered.
The shadowy castle.
Here is a model of what the castle should look like from the front.
Here is how it would look from the back.
This was down in the casemates (where they stored the explosives).  You can see the clay holding shell of one of the explosives that they used.
 An old carriage.
That belonged to Queen Victoria.

This was a fun day though saddening that we couldn't see the castle from afar to be able to get some cool pictures of it.
