This last Saturday we went to the Ludwigsburg Weihnachtsmarkt. We took the bus from Waiblingen because it had only one other zone to go through besides the zone that Waiblingen is in. We were there for a lot of the afternoon. Though the actual market is small there was some cool buildings in the barock (baroque in English spelling) era. Here are some pictures.
Here is a picture of the the cool Barock (Baroque) building that they feature in their advertising for the Weihnachtsmarkt.
They had a carousel ride for the children.
Here is another view of the building.
This is the backside of the same building pictured above and you can see a little Ferris wheel.
This was a group of singers dressed in Barock (Baroque) style clothing. It was kind of cool to watch.
Here is one of the booths. They were selling Barock (Baroque) style food.
This was the 3 o'clock show. He was a magician and told a lot of funny jokes.
This is him again. He pulled a rabbit out of his hat and here is a joke he told that Eddy thinks was hilarious. What is another name for a rabbit? Any guesses? A carrot murder.
This is the backside of the building after it started getting dark.
This was a cool looking light statue. An angel.
Here is the building after it started to get dark and the lights were on.
Here is how packed it was there was a lot of people but it could have been worse.
This is the 5 o'clock show.
This is a side picture of the lights. I think it is cool to see all the lights that they had up.
This is on a street lamp. They had these up and down all the streets in the city. This was a fun day and next Saturday we are going to Esslingen which has a Mittelaltermarkt (middle ages market) as well as an Adventsmarkt (on the weekend which happens to be the day we are there) and of course the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market). It is going to be lots of fun.
Oh no, there is my train I've got to run so I don't miss it. Talk to you all later.
