Long Days

For me, the days have been long some are longer than others especially when I have some difficult children to work with that day or they are not listening and only do what they think is fun. In the mornings on Mon-Thurs I am in Preschool which has its good days and it's bad days. Then on Tues and Thurs in the afternoon I work with the Kindergarten kids who have morning kindergarten and are in extended care in the afternoon. I let two girls go down to at different times but close enough that they were down there at the same time well they were taking a long time and after five minutes and I was hearing noises I gathered the rest of the kids and went down to find them playing in the hall. Well I decided to put them in time out while the other kids played on the playground. Well one I finally had to sit out with the elementary kids doing homework with another teacher while I tried to get the other to stay in time out since she would go and when I left she would run off. Finally, after holding on to her so she would stay and she started crying that she hated me and that I was mean she stayed for a few minutes while I talked to her telling her I just wanted her to be safe. Then I let her go with her sister who is in with the elementary kids and color. I do not know what to do because I can't keep chasing her down and holding on to her so she will stay where she needs for time out. Maybe next time I will put her with the elementary kids and tell her and the teacher out there that she is to have no contact with her sister while she sits in time out. Maybe that will work, but I hope it improves and she starts listening to me so I will not even have to worry about putting her in time out at all. Well don't mind my complaining I am enjoying work it just is frustrating when they don't listen especially when I am trying to teach but more so when I am trying to keep them safe.

Eddy is enjoying school and is staying very busy with school work and work. He loves his classes and does his best to help those around him.

New Job

This last week has been surprisingly busy. Last Wednesday Eddy checked the USU off campus job site to see what they had. He saw a job for preschool at Little Wonders Preschool and printed it off for me. Well the next day I go down to Little Wonders and fill out a application. Well this last Monday they called and I went in early Wednesday morning and had a job interview. They told me that they needed me on Thursday but she first wanted to review the application and interview notes with the other person working with the preschool and said that she would call that afternoon (Thursday). But, I did not get the call and just assumed that I would not be getting the job since they didn't call. So on Thursday I was in a Special Education classroom all day. So when I get out of class I check my voice mail and hear that they call and wanted to hire me so I called back and said when do you need me there and they said before six. Well I got there around four thirty went through an orientation and then met the parents because it was parents night on Thursday night from 6-8. So I am now trying to come up with lesson plans for 3 year old preschoolers but I think it will be fun. I only teach math which will mostly be number and shapes plus a few other concepts. But the great part about preschool is that if they don't understand it 100% then it is okay not the worst that can happen. I am pretty stoked to have this job. So if anyone has any ideas of math games that I can do with 3 year old children please share.
