Salzburg

After Rothenburg ob der Tauber we went to church that Sunday.  Then on March 14th we traveled to Salzburg, Austria.  Salzburg is the city where they filmed The Sound of Music movie.  Though we did not do the tour because it was really expensive we got what they called the Salzburg card where we could get into some of the city attractions for just the fee of the card and others for a cheaper rate.  We stayed in Salzburg overnight and viewed more on the 15th as well.  Here are some pictures:

This is the old part of the city.  You can see the fortress on top of the mountain.

This is one of the streets.  The buildings were all really tall and close together.

This is a statue of Mozart.  We visited his birthplace but they didn't allow pictures of the inside and I didn't get any of the outside.  It was pretty cool learning about his life.

This is the view of the old part of the city from the walkway going up to the fortress.  The cable car that would have taken us to the top was under renovation and was not working so we had to walk up the hill to get there.  There were lots of rests on the way up.

Picture of one of the cool buildings.  If you look closely at the gold globe you will not only see a statue standing on it but there are people playing on a huge chessboard right next to it.

This is the view of the city from the peak Untersberg it was over 6,000 feet high.  There was lots of snow up there.

 Eddy wanted to do a comparison of himself verses the street.  As you can see the street wasn't very wide.  This city is very beautiful and I would definitely go back and visit it again.
